Apart from genrescenes, mythological and religious motives mainly novels, poetry and dramas of worldliterature are depicted. Among others motives taken from Goethe's
"Götz von Berlichingen", Schiller's "Wallenstein", Eichendorff's "Aus dem Leben eines Tauge-nichts", Bürger's "Leonore", Grimmelhausen's "Simplizissimus", Torquato Tasso's "Orlando Furioso", Shakespeare's "Macbeth" and Walter Scott's novels, are to be found.
