Krafft entered the painting class at the Düsseldorf Academy in 1880
and was one of Peter Janssen’s (1844 – 1908) master pupils from 1884
onwards. In 1885, he painted the ceiling at the Düsseldorf
metropolitan theatre with allegories of the twelve months and putti.
